Start your New Year by treating yourself!

There are very few things as a mother of three that I can do on a regular basis to treat myself.

My days are filled with cleaning, cooking, helping with homework, carpooling, laundry, and the list goes on. Add to that working a couple of days a week as a nurse in either the emergency room or clinic and that leaves practically zero time for myself.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to add that as a wife to a police officer, I am often juggling these things by myself. Which after almost 9 years, I am completely used to it. But, it narrows the me time dramatically.

So what do I do to have a little me time and treat myself?

I read.  (And write, of course!)

And what's better than a nice long bath, glass of wine, and a great romance novel?

I can't think of anything better.

So this New Year when you're trying to take a little time for yourself... Order yourself a great book and pour yourself a glass of wine after putting the kids down for the night.

That's what I'll be doing!!

And may I make a recommendation? Try The Crimson Bond on amazon. :)

Erika

A secret about Brooke's name....

For those of you that have already read or are reading The Crimson Bond, you know that Brooke is the lead female charachter and that it's her story we follow from beginning to end.

How did I choose the name Brooke, you ask?

Easy. I love that name. It's my oldest daughter, Hailey's, middle name. I love it so much, in fact, that I had considered using it as a first name each time I was trying to pick names for her little sisters.

I never did, but it was an easy choice when I was deciding on a name for the lead female charachter.

So, that leaves me in a bit of a dilemma, you see. Because, of course, her 7 year old sister wants to know why I didn't use her middle name, Kathryn. And, of course, I love that name too.

So, I came to a decision and I'll let you in on it.

I have three girls and there will be three books in the series, so, I have promised my daughters that since I used the oldest's middle name in the first book, I will be using my second child's middle name, Kathryn, somewhere in the second book and my third daughter's middle name, Faith, somewhere in the third book.

And that solves that.

Hope you enjoyed this little behind the scenes story!

Erika

More thanks from me for your support of The Crimson Bond!

I cannot thank you enough to everyone who has downloaded The Crimson Bond! I have gotten some wonderful feedback and I so love hearing what you think!! It is such a great feeling to hear that someone can't put the book down or can't wait for the sequel.

This has been such a blessing to me. To get to write something and have people enjoy it is the epitomy of perfect. I loved writing Alex and Brooke's story and I can't wait to continue their journey.

I never imagined the response I would get to the release of The Crimson Bond. It went beyond my wildest imagination.

Thank you so much to each and everyone of you that have downloaded this book! You are the BEST.

Free book offer starting tomorrow!!

Starting tomorrow, I am offering The Crimson Bond for free on amazon. The promotion runs until Wednesday so, quick!, get your copy and leave a review, pretty please :)

After much research, I've decided that it would be a great way to boost exposure and get some much needed reviews. So today, the book is still 2.99 and it will go back to that price on Wednesday. In order to run this promotion through amazon I have had to pull it from Barnes and Noble and Smashword, for now. But a lot of other authors have blogged that they have had a lot of success with this, so we will see....

Hope I made a good decision and that it will put The Crimson Bond on the amazon bestseller list. I can dream, can't I?? You can get your copy here.

I sold my first book!!!

I am so excited to say that I have officially sold my first book!!! My book went live on amazon and smashwords at around 4am this morning. I can't believe it. I hope readers fall in love with Brooke and Alex as much as I have. I'm going to give myself a week or two break and then start on book 2 in the trilogy. I'm hoping to have a release date around the end of March or beginning of April.

If you love reading as much as I do and are a lover of all things romance, like me, please check out The Crimson Bond and write an honest review.

I would be ever so grateful!

You can purchase the book from amazon here.

Or you can purchase it on smashwords here.

The Crimson Bond can also be purchased soon on Barnes and Noble. It should be available on their site in the next day or two. I will keep you posted.

My very first post...

Well, as we speak I am navigating the very difficult task of formatting my ebook for amazon. I thought writing and editing the novel was hard but, wow, this has been a real learning experience. I guess that's the nice way to put it. The not so nice version... is that it's been a real headache.

But I am getting there and I assume the next book won't take nearly as long. Let's hope.

How am I feeling?

Nervous

Nervous that no one will read it or that I won't do a good job promoting it and getting it out there.

Nervous that people will read it but not love it as much as I do.

It's been a long time in the making. A lifelong dream. It took about 6 months to write and a whole two days to get it published to amazon and smashwords. I'm still a little iffy on whether I did it right.
We will see...

Hopefully, by tomorrow, I will have successfully published an ebook.

Hopefully, by tomorrow, someone will have bought my book-- and loved it.

Here is the cover, which I am very excited to introduce, as I designed it myself. Yay me!

I love it. Truly.

And here is a summary of The Crimson Bond...

When twenty two year old, Brooke Ashcroft, moves from her small town to the city after landing a job at a successful marketing agency, the last thing she expects is to unknowingly meet her boss- gorgeous mogul vampire, Alex Chase, in a bar on her very first night. The immediate intensity between them goes beyond anything she’s experienced and she soon finds out that there is a reason she can’t seem to think straight when he’s around- a fiercely powerful bond that is both extremely rare and deeply feared in the vampire world. With their bond complete, Brooke and Alex would threaten the stability of the Regency, a group of the most ancient vampires in existence, and one headed up by none other than her own deadbeat vampire father. When the Regency kidnaps her in an attempt to prevent the bond from taking place, Brooke must trust Alex with not only her eternal existence, but her already battered heart.

Quick! Go to amazon or smashwords and download your copy. Then write a raving review, haha, or how about an honest review. It would be much appreciated!
